MOVIE INSTRUCTIONS:
This utility allows you to list available
movies.
Daily and Monthly movies are updated on the hour.
- All times are Universal
Time unless labeled otherwise.
- Enter Year,
Month, Day.
- All movies that contain any part
of that day will be listed.
- Press the Find Movies button.
Movie Listing
name: name of movie file.
MB: Size of file in megabytes.
start: Starting date for this movie.
end: Ending date for this movie.
frames: The number of images used to create this movie.
sample: Most movies are a subset of images in the date range,
i.e., sample = 10 uses every tenth image.
filter: Ths is the optical filter used, see the Data
Notes page for a description.
Movie File Naming Convention
SXI_yyyymmdd_hhmmss_pv_nn_ttt_ddd.MPG
'yyyymmdd.hhmmss' UTC date (DATE_OBS).
'p' data product code, i.e.,
'A' = Level-0
'B' = Level-1
'C' = Level-2
The remainder of the alphabet is available for Level-2 product codes.
'v' processing version code, i.e.,
Reprocessed data will be differentiated by incrementing the version
code.
'nn' satellite ID (i.e., GOES-nn)
' ttt' image type, i.e., CS1 = Cornal Structures, AR1 = Active
Regions, CH1 = Coronal Hole.
'ddd' duration, i.e., 06H = 6 hours, 31D = 31 days.

MOVIE PLAYER SOFTWARE:
There are many plugins available for
Netscape and Internet Explorer that will display these MPEG and MPEG-2
movies. The list below contains those that have been tested, and are
available free-of-charge. MPEG-2 is the format used on DVDs, and some
players charge to play this format. If you have software suggestions,
send them to the SXI contact address below.
